In general, I think we need to move away from the premise that being a good person is a fixed immutable characteristic and shift towards seeing being good as a practice. And it is a practice that we carry out by engaging with our imperfections. We need to shift towards thinking that being a good person is like being a clean person. Being a clean person is something you maintain and work on every day.We don’t assume ‘I am a clean person therefore I don’t need to brush my teeth.’ When someone suggests to us that we have something stuck in our teeth we don’t say to them ‘What do you mean I have something stuck in my teeth—but I’m a clean person?!’

Dude nailed it. We all need to work at being good. Even if we think we are.

life hack: remember to compliment people on qualities other than their looks. remind them of their kindness, thoughtfulness, and intelligence. tell them about how powerful and capable they are.

Jon Stewart Goes After Fox in Powerful Ferguson Monologue

I been waiting for the daily show to come back so they could cover this

Jon rip them boys a new asshole

Perfection.

Here is an xcellent supplement to the scene Jon mentioned about the cops charging “destruction of property” (A friend of mine wrote a short and insightful piece about some of the history behind the machinations of Ferguson’s law enforcement and etc.)

I feel like nobody really appreciates Dave more. Like noel and julian get a hell of a lot of love in the fandom but Dave is amazing and deserves some appreciation. He met noel while the two were in art college. He documented moments of the boosh with his camera and was nice enough to share it with the fans through the exhibition, he helped create scribblings of a madcap shambleton by getting noel organised enough to document his art and even got some behind the scenes photos of noel in his studio, he constantly references the boosh on twitter and keeps the love for the show going with the fans, he’s a really good break dancer and would choreograph the dancing. Basically I just love Dave a lot

Remember the thing I drew for Noel’s 40th birthday where I drew 40 of the characters he played? It shouldn’t be too hard to complete it and draw every singe character he’s played ever, right?

No but really if you’re ever worried that Noel and Ju aren’t friends anymore because they’re not working on anything together right now just remember that Noel wrote of Rik Mayall’s death, “Ade will feel like he’s missing a limb or an organ,” and loathe as I am to appropriate someone else’s tragedy I think that says a lot about them and their relationship, more than any amount of tv series could ever do.
